St. Tammany Federation Ratifies New Contract

(St. Tammany Parish) – Last night, the members of the St. Tammany Federation of Teachers and School Employees (STFTSE) voted to ratify a new Collective Bargaining Agreement. This new agreement is the result of four months of good faith negotiations between the Federation and the St. Tammany School Board. The agreement goes into effect immediately, and ensures that all school district employees will receive a stipend on December 18th ($2,000 for certificated personnel and $1,700 for non-certified personnel).

“I want to thank everyone for their participation in the successful ratification of this contract,” said Patricia Craddock, STFTSE Interim President. “This is the culmination of a long process, and I’m looking forward to continuing to work with both the administration and the membership to continue fighting for the rights of teachers and school employees.”

The teachers and support employees of St. Tammany Parish have been working collaboratively with the School Board through the collective bargaining process since 1991 and this newest agreement represents the next chapter in that ongoing relationship.
