COVID Safety Policy Survey

Due to Superintendent Cade Brumley's recent announcement of a quarantine option and Superintendent Jabbia's swift adoption of the policy, many have expressed their concerns over the sudden change. As St. Tammany Federation president, my role with global issues is to be a representative, so it is important to gather data to inform my decision-making. Your input is appreciated.

Please take this brief survey to let us know where you stand on this issue.

Send a letter: Request for Post-Hurricane Ida Instructional Minutes to be Waived!

In the wake of Hurricane Ida, St. Tammany Parish Superintendent Frank Jabbia stated at a school board meeting that he was confident that instructional minutes would be waived. The communications director for STPSB, Meredith Mendez, subsequently stated “at this time, we are not revising our calendar because we are hopeful the state will provide waivers to the required instructional seat time given the widespread damage across the state.”

Write to BESE: Mask Mandate

Given the contentious nature of the mask mandate, I would like to provide a simple means for you to contact BESE members as well as the governor. It is unclear whether BESE has the power to overturn the mask mandate in schools, but they will discuss and possibly vote on the matter at tomorrow's meeting in Baton Rouge at 9 AM. Use this platform to let them know how you feel.
